How to host and join - The Basics:You are now hosting a new game online in your main game window. To start playing against the computer 'bots', simply click on the main game window to begin. Other online players will be able to join your game at anytime.||The second window you see is our Internet lobby which displays all hosted games. To join someone else's game in the lobby, click the "Join" button on the game table at the position you wish to join. Special Emotes:Did you know there are special emote commands? Throw a "kiss" to your partner or give them a "towel" to dry their tears. You can "laugh", "scream", "yawn", and "tickle" your way through a game. You can even create your own!||For a list of current emotes, open the macros.txt file found in your game's folder on your computer. Chat, Mute, and Supermute:Is somebody "talking" to you that you wish would keep quiet? Use the "/mute " command on the chat card. This will keep that player's comments absent from your chat card and prevent them from joining your hosted game until you unmute them by typing "/mute -"!||If someone is being really obnoxious, the "/supermute " command (for use by register players with a rating of 1500 or higher) will mute that player's comments from all players, even in the lobby. Player Profiles:Your player profile will appear in the left margin of the lobby window. You may edit your player name, face, and other information such as hobbies or ICQ address by clicking on the player face or info box along the left side. You may also choose various other options for your hosted games here.||You can also password protect your hosted games from this window. Only those that know your password can join. Watching a game:It is possible to join a game to "watch" without actually playing. Simply click on a player in the lobby that you want to watch. Once their profile information displays, click on the "Watch Player" button. You will be joined to the host's game and can watch and chat with the players in that game. You can only view the player's cards you are watching, not everyone else's! Buddy lists and Invite:Do you want to be notified in-game whenever a friend comes online? Just type "/buddy " in the chat card to add them to your Buddy List.||Why not invite your buddy to a friendly game of cards? Type "/invite " in the chat card. Your buddy will then get a personal invitation from you to play! Support for Voice Chat:Using your computer's microphone, you can have real live table talk by using the popular program, RogerWilco (free download at http://www.rogerwilco.com). Once you host a game online using RogerWilco, the lobby will show a V in a circle by your name. If others have it installed, the game will automatically connect to your voice chat session when they join your game.||No more typing, just start talking! Player ratings:Did you know that you can raise your online rating by playing against the game 'bots? The bots are rated just like other online players and can raise (or lower!) your ratings as you play against them. However, to get the highest ratings (above 1700) you will have to play online against human players. Whispering messages:Interested in talking to just one person in the lobby without everyone hearing you? Use the "/whisper " command. This will allow you and your friend to talk privately. For subsequent messages, just type "/w ". Lockout Joins:Hosts can click on a player's face while in-game and click on "lockout joins". This will prevent others from joining to hold a position for a particular player (like their partner) to arrive. Lockouts also prevent watchers at that position. Competitive Ladder:Players can now report their wins/loses and be listed on a player's ladder through Case's Ladder or RankMonster. These ladders display the "Who's Who" of the DreamQuest card gamers!||For more information on how to join the ladder, select 'Join Ladder' from the Multiplayer menu.
